Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Teases Return of Another Famous BO2 Map
The official release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is still just under six weeks away, but developer Treyarch Studios is continuing to tease the addition of remastered Black Ops 2 maps for the game’s post-launch content. Outside of the maps available in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at launch, no post-launch content has been confirmed as of writing, but fans have a great idea of what to expect thanks to numerous teases from Treyarch Studios over the last few weeks.
At launch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will feature a total of 18 Multiplayer maps for players to check out. Thirteen of these maps will be brand-new, 6v6 experiences, two will be dedicated to the game’s 20v20 Skirmish mode, and the remaining three are remastered Black Ops 2 maps. Treyarch has already confirmed that even more remasters will arrive later down the line, but until Season 1 rolls around later in the year, fans will only have Express, Raid, and Hijacked to re-experience.
Treyarch Teases Vertigo for Black Ops 7 Post-Launch Content
Early access to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta kicked off a couple of days ago, giving fans a chance to check out some of the new maps that will be available at launch. While there aren’t any remastered maps in the beta, Treyarch does appear to be going full steam ahead with the return of classic maps when it comes to post-launch content. Previous teases have already suggested that Meltdown and Yemen will be returning in the future, but now the latest episode of the official Call of Duty podcast has hinted at a remastered version of Vertigo, which was released in Black Ops 2 as part of the Uprising DLC.
It’s currently unclear when the game’s first season will begin, but given that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 won’t release until November 14, it’s likely that Season 1 will begin in December. The good news, however, is that fans won’t need to wait that long to get their hands on another classic Call of Duty map, as Treyarch has already confirmed that Nuketown 2025 will be available in Black Ops 7 “shortly after launch.” If the studio follows the same schedule it did with Black Ops 6, there’s a strong chance that Nuketown will be available in-game just one week after the shooter’s launch.
For those who haven’t had a chance to check out the early access beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, an open beta is set to begin on October 5. The playtest will be live for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC up until October 8. It not only gives fans the chance to try before they buy, but also allows Treyarch to collect valuable player feedback before the game’s launch. In just the first few days of the beta, player feedback has allowed Treyarch to adjust TTK, doors, weapon XP, and more.
